Vocabulary is key. The words in this list can be learned by looking at pictures or by seeing the word in your native language.

Our goal is to create and teach language learners to perform effective exercises that are enjoyable to practice.

Reading

Reading helps one acquire fluency, grammar, vocabulary, culture, and more.

Song Transcription

Listen to a song you like in English, transcribe what you hear, work to understand the song, memorize the song, starting singing the song.

This activity gives your ear the ability to hear the new language and process it right away, and it gives your tongue the ability to make the moves of your new language.

It's like exercising or learning to play an instrument. You need to do it to get better. You need to practice.

Free Flowing Conversation

Put the reps in and practice flowing in conversation.

Version 1

  • Look, listen, pause, and repeat

Look at the words as they're being said, listen to them attentively, pause the video, and repeat what you hear.

Do this until you can say each sentence along with me.

Version 2

  • Listen

Listen to it at whatever level of attention you have available to give to it. The purpose is to listen; you cannot fail with this exercise. No matter what, something positive is happening.

I did not create this activity, nor did I name it. I learned it from @NaturalLanguageLearning on YouTube.
